In the photo, Governor Timothy M. Kaine is signing an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve 5-Star Statement of Support for all employees of the Commonwealth of Virginia. To the Governor’s right are: The Adjutant General of Virginia, MG Robert Newman; Secretary of Public Safety,The Honorable John Marshall; R. Bob Crouch, the Governor’s Assistant for Commonwealth Preparedness; Mr. Vince Burgess, Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. To the Governor’s left are Dr. Charles Quillin, Virginia State ESGR Chairman; ;COL Marie Mahoney,Virginia National Guard Joint Forces; Mr. Phil Pope, Deputy Executive Director of NCESGR. Behind the Governor were members of the National Guard and military reserve components and Angie and Jerry Wade, representing the Family Readiness Groups in Virginia. This was a very signifi cant event for ESGR and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
