HENRICO DOCTORS’ HOSPITAL AND EMPLOYEES RECEIVE PATRIOTIC EMPLOYER AWARD FROM U.S. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE

Richmond, VA, [October 24, 2008] – Linda Heagen and Todd Zischke of Henrico Doctors’ Hospital received today an award recognizing them and Henrico Doctors’ Hospital as Patriotic Employers for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve force.

The award was presented by the Chairman of The Central Virginia Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense organization that provides information and education to employers and service members regarding the management of employees who serve in the National Guard or Reserve.

Timothy Brown, Neonatal Respiratory Care Practitioner at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital and member of the Army National Guard, nominated Ms. Heagen and Mr. Zischke for the award.  “Working within a busy NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) providing ventilatory life support to pre-mature babies, these supervisors went beyond the call of duty to assist me with work scheduling so that I could train with my unit.   Ms. Heagen, Mr. Zischke and Henrico Doctors’ Hospital recognize the importance of my service to both my State and Country.”
